Our partner, a specialized industrial solutions provider serving the steel, mining, and metallurgical markets is seeking a VP of Sales to help drive its next phase of growth. The Role: You will play a critical role in building a sales organization from the ground up while immediately owning and expanding an established, high value book of business. This is a hands on leadership role with significant autonomy, allowing the individual to shape go to market strategy, drive revenue from day one, and scale the commercial function over time. The ideal candidate comes from a larger enterprise environment within the industry and is motivated to make a direct, measurable impact within a growing organization. Requirements: • 10+ years of sales experience within metallurgy or steel, selling heavy industrial equipment into blast furnaces, melt shops, or rolling mills • Proven experience building a sales department from scratch, including KPI definition and go to market strategy development • Strong negotiation experience with multi million dollar MSAs, including total cost of ownership modeling and raw material escalation clauses • Demonstrated success carrying a personal sales quota while managing international sales agents and channel partners • Experience navigating long sales cycles, typically 12 to 18 months, involving executive leadership, engineering, and procurement stakeholders Plus Skills: • Prior experience working for a large global industrial equipment manufacturer within the steel or metallurgical space Responsibilities: • Identify and close new business opportunities within steel, mining, and metallurgical markets • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and cold outreach through contract execution • Drive complex industrial equipment sales across assigned regions • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and senior decision makers • Manage and grow key accounts to support long term strategic partnerships • Collaborate with product, engineering, and technical teams to deliver tailored, manufacturable solutions • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that enables scalable growth • Act as a hands on player coach while building and developing a high performing sales team • Expand market reach through direct sales, agents, and channel partnerships • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to consistently meet or exceed growth targets
