Job Summary The Lead Maintenance Manager / Chief Engineer is responsible for overall budgeting, managing a team to ensure the maintenance, servicing, and repairing of specialized ovens, mixing machinery, product handling systems, conveyors, and other equipment, safety, maintaining and reporting on environmental systems and processes, and managing business processes within the organization. This position will require interaction with all internal departments, 3rd party vendors, and customers to which services are provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Manages and justifies all budget and resource allocation decisions to senior management. • Plan direct and lead project activities. • Identify and schedule project deliverables and required tasks. • Act as liaison between the project that is being worked on and management. • Direct and coordinate activities for Mechanics to ensure project timelines are on schedule. • Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. • Oversee policies, procedures, protocols and controls that govern operations. • Consults with staff to ensure routines and controls the organization's operating safely and effectively. • Set goals and objectives. • Maintaining a completion rate of 90% for preventative maintenance. • Order parts. • Confront issues openly and quickly. • Attend and conduct regularly scheduled meetings with staff and management. • Adhere to Innovative Bakery Research Core Values. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: • Associates degree from a two-year college in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade school in related field and five years’ experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience. • In-depth experience and knowledge of food manufacturing • Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment. • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and 3D CAD skills. • Knowledge of tooling design and fabrication. • Proven ability to manage multiple project plans, with solid project and time-management skills. • Outstanding verbal and written communication. • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • 3 years’ experience as a maintenance technician, 2 years’ supervisory experience. • Basic PLC troubleshooting skills. • Competent welding skills. • Solid electrical troubleshooting skills. • Read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. • Available to work all shifts and weekends. • Follow all OSHA safety guidelines, including Lockout / Tag out procedures. Physical Requirements: • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Sit, walk, and stand regularly. • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel. • Reach with hands and arms. • Speak, talk, and hear. • Communicate in writing using the English language. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, climbing, and kneeling/squatting. • Must be able to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 50 feet. • Work on the floor to assist the crew when it is needed to get production back up or for coaching/training. Working Environment: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. • The employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions. • The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. • The employee may be exposed to high noise environments. • The employee may be exposed to extremely dusty environments. • The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process. • Status: Salary/Exempt (Starting Pay: DOE)
