Certification Project Specialist Location: Raleigh, NC (Remote) Type: Contract Role Overview: Seeking a Certification Project Specialist to lead CMS/MMIS certification workstreams for complex system implementations within NC’s Advanced Planning Office (APO). This role collaborates with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure CMS criteria are met and projects are positioned for successful CMS/MMIS Certification. Key Responsibilities: • Lead certification workstream activities and project teams. • Execute certification strategy and manage certification evidence/artifacts. • Conduct CMS-focused meetings, system demos, and follow-ups on CMS action items. • Prepare narratives, documentation, and maintain certification repositories. • Align certification efforts with MITA 3.0 maturity goals. • Integrate certification tasks into project schedules and monitor progress. • Educate teams on CMS certification processes and policy updates. Required Skills: • 5+ years MMIS/CMS certification experience. • 5+ years state government or HHS/Medicaid program experience. • 5+ years project management experience (scope, schedule, financials). • Experience in client-facing system implementations. • 3+ years CMS Medicaid Enterprise Certification Life Cycle experience. • Proficiency with project tools (MS Project, Jira, MITA Pulse). Highly Desired: • Healthcare analytics/reporting experience. • Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall SDLC methodologies. • CMMI experience. • Medicaid/MMIS/claims experience.
