Role: Business Analyst – SME Level Location: Jackson, MS Work Mode: Remote Employment Type: Contract Interview Mode: Only Video The Technical Business Analyst will support the modernization of the Student Information System by leading business analysis, requirements documentation, and data-driven solution design. This role focuses on improving data quality, developing web-based applications, and enabling dashboards and reports that enhance decision-making and student outcomes. Key Responsibilities: • Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and technical requirements (BRD, FDD, TDD, user stories, use cases, RTM, test cases). • Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements. • Document current and future state processes, business rules, workflows, and data flows using diagrams and flowcharts. • Support Agile/Scrum teams throughout the SDLC, including UAT planning, test case creation, and validation. • Develop high-quality technical and user documentation, manuals, and system guides. • Support data visualization, dashboards, and reporting initiatives to improve data accessibility and accuracy. Skills Required: • 7+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst on software development projects • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) requirements with stakeholders as well as development team No min. • Must be able to collaborate with Project Manager, Architect, and developers to ensure business requirements are communicated, accepted, and meet expectations • Must be able to translate and simplify requirements from stakeholders into written requirement documents for development team. Documents include: Formal Business Requirements Document, Functional Design Document, Technical Design Document, Technical Use Cases, User stories, Business Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test cases. • Must be able to create diagrams, flowcharts, and workflows of business processes • Must be able to create diagrams, flowcharts, and workflows of data flow through system • Must be able to create and manage test cases for Quality Assurance. • Must be familiar with software and database development concepts • Technical Business Analyst work on a software development team • Must have experience developing technical documentation for enterprise software users, system administrators, and other technical audiences • Strong experience in requirements management and creating all documents listed above • Strong experience in mapping business processes into technical documentation • Strong experience in user acceptance testing • Ability to analyze business functions • Practical experience generating process documentation and reports • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio • Extensive experience with data visualization • Excellent communication with the ability to translate data into actionable insights • Scrum • Agile
