Role: Java Technical lead Location : USA - Remote Microservice lead + Spring Boot, GCP Cloud, Postgres, Retail Commerce, ATG, Tech Lead Should be able to drive a team in offshore, communicate with client , business, drive them in good direction Description We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with 10+ years of hands-on development experience and a minimum of 4+ years in team leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), PostgreSQL, and Retail Commerce solutions. This role requires experience in designing scalable cloud-native applications, leading development teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving end-to-end solution delivery in Agile environments. Responsibilities • Good retail domain experience & leading team • 10+ years of experience in software development. • 4+ years of proven experience leading development teams. • Strong coding skills in Java and hands-on development experience with Spring Boot Microservices. • Proven experience designing and developing scalable, secure, and resilient applications. • Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems. • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application development. • Strong experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Strong code review, debugging, and problem-solving skills. • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito. • Experience with automated testing using Cucumber or similar frameworks. • Hands-on experience with Version Control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. • Strong understanding of application monitoring, logging, and performance analysis tools. • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client coordination skills. • Experience working in high-availability, mission-critical environments. • Mandatory experience in Retail Commerce/eCommerce domain. • Strong understanding of retail business processes including Catalog, Pricing, Promotions, Cart, Checkout, and Order Management. • Experience integrating applications with Loyalty, Rewards, CRM, Martech, Payment, and SaaS platforms. • Ability to take ownership from requirements gathering through production deployment and support. Qualifications ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Key Responsibilities • Lead & demonstrate end-to-end ownership from requirement analysis through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. • Ensure high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions are delivered on time. Proactive & Independent: • Independently drive technical initiatives and resolve complex technical problems. • Take ownership of delivering features through the entire software development lifecycle. Technical Leadership & Project Delivery • Lead and mentor a team of developers while ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. • Drive architecture and design discussions for scalable cloud-native solutions. • Own end-to-end design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise applications. • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product, and Architecture teams to ensure successful delivery. • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members. Client Engagement • Work closely with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical recommendations. • Participate in solution discussions, estimations, and technical feasibility assessments. • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans effectively. Agile Delivery • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, and retrospectives. • Contribute continuous improvement through automation, code quality initiatives, and process optimization. • Promote Agile best practices across the team.
