Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Total Rewards Associate to support the day-to-day administration of our self-funded benefits plan and contribute to key projects in the Total Rewards function. This role will focus primarily on operational benefits administration, including compliance, data integrity, and vendor coordination, while also participating in ad-hoc initiatives related to systems implementation, utilization analysis, and HR analytics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in benefits administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with both internal teams and external vendors. This is a remote role, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone, and requires up to 10% travel. Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration Oversee administration of the company’s self-funded health insurance plan, including claims processing, appeals, and regulatory escalations. Ensure compliance of all healthcare benefits (medical, Rx, dental, vision) with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA. Maintain accurate employee benefits records, process enrollments and terminations, and manage timely reporting and documentation. Serve as a liaison with external vendors, benefits providers, and consultants to support renewals, contract negotiations, and service delivery. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, and assist with education and communication efforts related to benefits offerings. Partner with brokers and consultants to evaluate current benefit programs and recommend improvements to increase employee satisfaction and cost-efficiency. Project Work & Analytics Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of HR systems (HRIS) with a focus on benefits, payroll, and reporting functionalities. Audit employee data for accuracy and integrity; investigate and resolve data issues in collaboration with HRIS and IT teams. Generate regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making by HR and senior leadership. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and recommend system or procedural enhancements across the Total Rewards function. Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR function. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Sciences, IT, or a related field preferred. Working knowledge of relevant compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and benefits policies. Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data analysis and reporting. Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and a high volume of transactions with attention to detail. Experience with HRIS systems and benefits platforms is a plus.
