Description About the role: Indie Consulting is seeking a strategically minded, operationally rigorous, and highly collaborative 1PD Strategist & CDP Transition Manager to lead the implementation of first-party data (1PD) strategy and process ownership from a centralized enterprise model to four individual operating companies (OpCos). This role sits at the intersection of strategy, change management, and marketing operations. You will define what success looks like for 1PD adoption, guide OpCos through CDP selection and migration, and ensure that first-party data activation becomes embedded in acquisition and retention workflows. This is not a purely technical role, nor is it purely strategic. You will translate 1PD vision into operational reality, partnering closely with brand teams, media partners, retention leads, analytics partners, and vendor platforms (Segment, Klaviyo, Bloomreach). In Q3, you will lead enablement and testing efforts. In Q4, you will transition into an advisory role, ensuring sustained adoption and accountability before full ownership is transferred. Requirements Responsibilities: • 1PD Vision & Strategic Leadership Serve as the strategic lead for first-party data strategy and CDP transition across 4 oper • Define and socialize a clear 1PD vision and operating model • Clarify how 1PD drives measurable business outcomes (AOV, LTV, media efficiency, retention) • Ensure decentralization strengthens adoption (not dissolves accountability) • Establish success metrics and adoption benchmarks for 1PD usage • Develop OpCo-specific 1PD opportunity briefs tied to business priorities • Align stakeholders around acquisition and retention use cases • Build executive-ready materials to reinforce the importance of 1PD strategy • CDP Selection & Transition Management Lead the operational transition of CDP ownership from an enterprise model to individual operating companies. • Support OpCos in evaluating and selecting CDP platforms • Develop CDP comparison frameworks and decision criteria • Audit and document current audience inventories • Create structured migration plans (move, retire, rebuild) • Oversee integration readiness across ecommerce, ESP, and paid media platforms • Ensure CDP configuration supports multi-channel deployment • Maintain transition trackers, milestone maps, and risk logs • Coordinate vendor conversations and training schedules • Enablement & Operationalization Drive adoption through structured enablement and testing. • Develop OpCo-specific H2 1PD activation and testing plans • Facilitate bi-weekly working sessions with acquisition and retention teams from each opco (4) • Ensure priority audiences are built, QA’d, and deployed • Partner with agency teams to embed 1PD into media briefing workflows • Launch 1–2 live 1PD use cases per OpCo • Implement repeatable test-and-learn frameworks • Document SOPs and governance guidelines • Advisory & Change Management Oversight Transition from active lead to advisory partner as decentralization matures • Validate operational ownership across OpCos • Monitor activation cadence and adoption health • Escalate risks where adoption declines • Facilitate cross-OpCo knowledge sharing • Deliver quarterly adoption and impact summaries • Finalize governance framework for 2027 sustainability Skills And Competencies • Strong understanding of first-party data strategy and marketing activation • Experience with CDPs (Segment, Klaviyo, Adobe, etc) • Familiarity with acquisition and retention marketing workflows on the brand side • Strong change management and stakeholder influence skills • Ability to operate in ambiguity and evolving environments • Exceptional organizational and program management capabilities • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with operational execution • Clear communicator across executive and working-team levels Qualifications • 5–8+ years in marketing strategy, CRM, CDP, lifecycle marketing, or marketing operations • Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives • Familiarity with paid media and retention channel integration • Experience working with enterprise or multi-brand organizations preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience) Contract Details • Duration: March 15, 2026 – December 31, 2026 • 16 hours/week (March 15 –September) • 10 hours/week (October–December) • Location: Remote • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and scope of work
