PED-COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS (IN-PCER-IUINA) The Division of Children's Health Services Research (CHSR) at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine is nationally recognized for its innovative work and the research services it provides to pediatricians throughout Indiana. Since its inception in 2001, the division has been working to improve the health and health care of children by developing and applying the best scientific evidence and methods in health services research. The group is a national leader in health policy research, analysis, and advocacy. Recognized for applying information and technology to improve child health care, team members use health informatics, epidemiologic studies, health policy analysis, decision analysis and cost-effectiveness research to shape public health policy and improve care for pediatric patients. The Administrative Assistant would support 5 to 6 faculty in CHSR with administrative tasks including calendaring, arranging meetings, travel arrangements, small projects, and purchasing. Department-Specific Responsibilities • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements. • Assist with invoice processing, expense reporting, and budget tracking. • Support team members with administrative tasks and project coordination. • Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations. General Responsibilities • Provide administrative support to executives, exercising confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. • Utilize business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc. • Receive, screen, and direct incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately. • Manage executive's calendar, meetings, travel, correspondence, and budget. • Act as informal resource for colleagues with less experience; respond to more complex or escalated inquiries. • Identify, enhance, and follow specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business to which the support is being provided. • May perform other duties related to maintaining an internal website and/or working with social media. Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education. EDUCATION Required • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED). Required WORK EXPERIENCE • 4 years of relevant experience. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
