JOIN OUR TEAM Indiana Bridge, Inc is a nationally recognized structural steel fabricator located in Muncie, Indiana. Indiana Bridge, Inc was originally a premier provider of bridges, but has evolved into a supplier of high-quality steel fabrication and erection services for various customers. Our services include structural steel fabrication and steel erection for commercial properties, industrial projects, arenas, and airports across North America. Here are some of our notable projects: • Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN • DeHority Hall at Ball State University in Muncie, IN • Chrysler SHAP in Sterling Heights, MI • HEB in San Antonio, TX • Nestle in Anderson, IN • Coca-Cola in New Orleans, LA SUMMARY: We are looking for an experienced Certified Welding Instructor (CWI) to grow our quality control/assurance department while ensuring the highest levels of quality and compliance. In this role, you will oversee welding processes, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Your strong background in quality control and welding evaluation will be essential in maintaining instructional excellence and upholding industry best practices. QUALIFICATIONS: • Shop Inspectors must pass a written examination of drawings, weld inspections, specifications and shop mathematics before being considered a Qualified Shop Inspector • Must pass eye examination to assure natural or corrected vision near acuity in at least one eye and capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger #2, at no less than 12” • Calibrate fitter tools, inspection tools and weld machines • Assure equipment and tools out of calibration are not used • Maintain records of calibration • Conduct welder audits every six (6) months • Complete inspection of receiving materials • Inspection of incoming material • Assure proper use of electrodes • Visually inspects weld profiles according to D1.1 or D1.3 acceptance criteria • Bolt inspection at a rate of 10% • Inspection of three (3) bolts per lot, using calibrated Skidmore • Paint application inspection of minimum three (3) samples every ten feet. Inspect surface profile of abrasive blast cleaned surfaces for compliance with coating specifications • Places yellow tag on parts that do not conform until error has been corrected • Record all nonconformance • Final inspection includes a minimum of 10% of parts to verify that dimensional compliance, drawing specifications, and tolerances are met. Inspections will include hole locations, attachments and cutting quality • All inspections are documented and recorded • Shop Inspectors may only perform inspections and record results when a supervising CWI is present with visual and verbal contact. • Must work SAFE • Must be familiar with welders, torches, grinders, etc. • Be able to lift 60#. A pre-employment physical lift test will be given. • Be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day • Be available to work all regular and over-time hours required • Pass a pre-employment drug screen. • Show up ready to work at 6 am on scheduled days • High quality of workmanship is a must. • Employee will work directly with experienced lead man assigned to the area. • Must be efficient and productive.
