(*Comscore, Total Visits, March 2025) Day to Day Lead Reporting Engineer for the Data, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams responsible for constructing reports, dashboards, and innovative data visualizations using Tableau/SQL within an agile framework. Support Reporting & Data Visualization needs across all levels, from individual contributors to C-suite executives. Act as a subject matter expert on Tableau within the organization, offering guidance and recommendations on data visualization strategies and tool capabilities. Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, data scientists, and business users to articulate reporting requirements and architect reporting solutions leveraging Tableau. Develop and advocate for best practices in dashboard design and Tableau data source development, fostering their adoption across the organization. Offer insights to data engineering teams to enhance the data warehouse/data lake for more effective reporting. Lead Tableau-related projects, from initial scoping and requirements gathering to implementation and deployment, ensuring successful project delivery within established timelines and budgets. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Tableau and data visualization techniques, incorporating new methodologies and technologies where applicable. Conduct performance tuning and optimization exercises to enhance the speed and efficiency of Tableau dashboards and reports. Oversee Tableau server management, ensuring its availability and continuous operation. Ensure the seamless functioning of scheduled Tableau data extracts and reports. Institute robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms for Tableau data extracts, ensuring timely detection and resolution of issues. Execute backup and restoration procedures for the Tableau server, with a focus on automation for efficiency. Lead training sessions and workshops to educate team members and stakeholders on Tableau's best practices, new features, and advanced techniques. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the usability, accessibility, and user experience of Tableau dashboards and reports. Employ optimization strategies for various Tableau services on the Tableau server, adhering to industry best practices and automating processes where feasible. Define and enforce a comprehensive security policy for the Tableau server, integrating authentication through LDAP and OKTA. Develop and implement plans for scaling the User Licenses & Tableau server infrastructure in line with organizational growth. Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure the Tableau server environment is properly configured, maintained, and integrated with other systems. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States. Responsibilities Minimum Job Requirements: • Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. • Position requires three [3] years of experience in the following: • • 1. Business, functional, and customer requirements analysis; • 2. Technical solutions design; • 3. Mapping and Visualization in Tableau; • 4. Data Visualization; • 5. Creating UI visualization with Tableau Desktop, or Tableau Server; • 6. Performance Tuning, or Tuning Reports; • 7. Building Dashboards using techniques for guided analytics; and • 8. Creating technical designs, developing and deploying technical components of Tableau BI Solutions. Alternative Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. • Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation • Five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the following: • • 1. Business, functional, and customer requirements analysis; • 2. Technical solutions design; • 3. Mapping and Visualization in Tableau; • 4. Data Visualization; • 5. Creating UI visualization with Tableau Desktop, or Tableau Server; • 6. Performance Tuning, or Tuning Reports; • 7. Building Dashboards using techniques for guided analytics; and • 8. Creating technical designs, developing and deploying technical components of Tableau BI Solutions. Multiple positions available. Salary Range Transparency Salary Range: $134,000 to $216,000 per year. Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
