Description Position Summary: The Sr Developer leads the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of scalable web applications and enterprise solutions. You will provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, architect modern cloud-based applications, mentor development teams, and drive engineering best practices utilizing Python, React.js, Java/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, AWS services, and AI-assisted development tools. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on development experience, strong architectural expertise, and a proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex client solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, and implementation of Python-based enterprise solutions that meet client requirements. - Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle. - Architect, build, and maintain scalable web applications, APIs, and cloud-native solutions. - Lead quality development practices, including test-driven development, code reviews, and application security standards. - Drive the adoption of Agile and DevSecOps best practices across development teams. - Oversee code reviews and establish coding standards to improve code quality, scalability, maintainability, and performance. - Lead technical analysis, solution design sessions, user story creation, estimation, and implementation planning activities. - Guide Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives. - Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, and development standards. - Design and implement solutions utilizing object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, microservices architectures, database design, data modeling, and modern web technologies. - Serve as the primary technical liaison for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. - Lead the development and delivery of cloud-based applications and services utilizing AWS technologies. - Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex application, integration, infrastructure, and performance issues. - Mentor junior and mid-level developers by providing coaching, technical guidance, and career development support. - Utilize AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve development productivity, code quality, solution delivery, and engineering efficiency. - Lead application modernization efforts and recommend improvements to architecture, tooling, and development processes. - Develop accurate project estimates and support project planning, delivery forecasting, and resource allocation activities. Requirements Non-Technical Requirements: - Must be a U.S. Citizen. - Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (1-2 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required. - Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Must be able to prioritize and self-start. - Must be adaptable/flexible as priorities shift. - Must be enthusiastic and have passion for learning and constant improvement. - Must be open to collaboration, feedback and client asks. - Must enjoy working with a vibrant team of outgoing personalities. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. - 8+ years of professional software development experience. - 8+ years of hands-on backend development experience using Python. - 5+ years of hands-on frontend development experience using React.js. - Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot. - Extensive experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures. - Strong experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle. - Strong experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB. - Extensive experience utilizing AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, and RDS. - Experience leading development efforts within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban. - Experience utilizing JIRA and Agile project management processes. - Proven ability to lead software engineering teams and deliver complex technical solutions. - Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, database design, data modeling, and distributed systems. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams. - Proven experience translating business requirements into scalable technical architectures and solutions. - Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, review, validation, optimization, and software delivery acceleration. Preferred Qualifications: - Active/Current DHS-USCIS Entry on Duty (EOD) Clearance/Investigation. - Python Certification(s). - AWS Certification(s). - Java Certification(s). - Experience leading cloud-native application modernization initiatives. - Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practices. - Experience in a client-facing consulting environment leading technical delivery teams. - Experience mentoring and developing software engineering talent.
