Job Title: Warehouse Fulfillment and Operations Manager Location: Mooresville, IN Employment Type: 30-40 hours/week (hours based on need) , In Person/Hybrid, Contracted Pay Range: $20-$25 Hourly About Us: In the Black (ITB) operates a unique third-party logistics (3PL) service dedicated to supporting growing brands with precision shipping and order fulfillment. We specialize in small business and niche fulfillment, giving brands the flexibility and care they need to scale without losing their personal touch. Every day, our team handles between 50–500 orders, delivering with speed, accuracy, and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. We manage daily shipments for multiple brands while also providing clients with personalized account management, inventory tracking, and operations support. Our operations are based in Mooresville, Indiana, where we run two warehouse spaces: • Main Fulfillment Center & Office: Housed in a converted auto body shop, this unique facility serves as the heart of our operations, where all daily fulfillment and shipping takes place. • Overflow Storage Warehouse: Located directly across the street, this secondary warehouse provides flexible storage capacity, ensuring we can accommodate seasonal surges, bulk shipments, and large-scale inventory projects. Currently we have two stales in the second warehouse space. Job Overview: We are seeking a Warehouse Fulfillment Manager who can jump in immediately and become a key part of our fast-growing operations team. With new products arriving daily and order volumes staying consistent, this position is critical to keeping our warehouse running smoothly and our clients’ customers happy. This is a hybrid role that combines warehouse fulfillment with administrative operations and client support. One day you may be unloading freight and ensuring orders are shipped on time, and the next you may be updating sales reports, communicating with clients, or assisting with marketing projects. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Operations/Admin Responsibilities: Client & Vendor Communications • Serve as the primary contact for client communication related to warehouse operations, shipments, and inventory status. • Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, and delivery partners to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments. • Provide timely shipment and inventory updates to clients, maintaining high visibility and proactive communication. • Support clients with special requests, such as updating listings in sales platforms, coordinating custom shipping projects, or handling product-related inquiries. • Address customer service questions and concerns on behalf of clients in coordination with the internal team. • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and internal team to ensure client satisfaction, accuracy, and timeliness in all deliverables. Operations & Logistics Oversight • Manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflows, safety, and efficiency. • Hire and oversee warehouse assistants, moving crews, or temporary labor as needed, within approved budgets. • Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions, ensuring consistency and accountability. • Coordinate inbound freight deliveries, including scheduling and receiving from freight forwarders and international shipments. • Plan and coordinate equipment rentals or additional resources for container offloads or special projects. • Monitor facility layout, space utilization, and storage strategy to maintain an organized and scalable system. • Anticipate warehouse needs and propose operational improvements to increase efficiency or safety. • Ensure the warehouse complies with OSHA standards, internal safety procedures, and any client-specific compliance requirements. Financial & Administrative Management • Track, manage, and report on warehouse operational expenses (freight, supplies, equipment, and labor). • Maintain warehouse operations within established budgets, including staffing and supply costs. • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety. • Conduct and oversee quarterly physical inventory counts for accuracy and reporting (administrative oversight only). • Create and maintain tracking reports and dashboards for warehouse performance, expenses, and client storage metrics. Warehouse Responsibilities: Order Fulfillment • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and on time each day. • Prepare and fulfill bulk retail shipments (e.g., Dick’s, Shields) in accordance with retailer packaging and routing guidelines. • Generate shipping labels and process orders across platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, etc.). • Manage and process product returns, ensuring accurate restocking and documentation. • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all products and shipments meet standards before leaving the warehouse. • Alert the Warehouse Manager to low stock levels or damaged inventory. Warehouse Efficiency & Upkeep • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for order fulfillment, receiving, and storage. • Maintain supplies (boxes, tape, labels, etc.) and replenish as needed. • Keep all areas of the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Qualifications: • Prior experience in warehouse or fulfillment operations is highly preferred. • Proficiency with e-commerce platforms and label creation (Shopify, Etsy, Amazon). • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse tasks. • A proactive attitude with exceptional attention to detail.
