Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in the parking garage including trash removal, sweeping, cleaning pay stations, and snow/ice treatment.
High school diploma or GED, basic technical education, experience with general repairs and maintenance, ability to operate various vehicles, and good communication skills.
Description Position: Parking Garage Porter Location: Montclair State University Hourly pay: $17 Shift: 11:30PM to 7:30AM • Emptying all trash receptacles daily at a minimum; • Removing all litter daily at a minimum; • Sweep elevator lobby floors daily at a minimum; • Clean top and face of pay stations daily at a minimum; • Remove unauthorized flyers and other posts as needed; • Wiping stairwell handrails weekly at a minimum; • Clean the tip of the trash receptacles daily at a minimum; • Clean the toilet bowl and sink and floor in office bathroom daily; • Sweep the floors in the office at a minimum of twice weekly; • Clean inside of elevator windows and panels three times weekly at a minimum; • Clean office windows inside and out three times weekly at a minimum; • Clean entrance and exit gates and gate boxes, and ticket spitter three times weekly at a minimum; • Dust height requirement bars monthly at a minimum; • Sweep the front entrance/exit area, specifically around the concrete islands weekly at a minimum. • Monitor, and treat as necessary the 5th floor walking ramp, removing snow and ice and applying calcium and/or sand as needed to ensure safety of customers.
