Our client is looking for a QA Engineer (SQL, Snowflake) on a remote contract basis. Note: • This is remote contract, Must be local to AZ • Open to W2 or No Corp to Corp The QA Consultant is responsible for feature testing, system testing, and writing automated tests with limited supervision. This position works closely with Data Engineers, business analysts, and infrastructure engineers through all stages of the software/AI development process to ensure that all systems meet organization standards and end-user requirements. The QA Consultant analyst works on the most complex systems and problems as well as co-ordinates with the Offshore QC analysts if needed. QA Engineer – Snowflake Data Validation Position Overview Our client is seeking a QA Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise data initiative . The team is migrating data into a Snowflake environment utilizing a Medallion Architecture and requires a QA professional who can validate data accuracy, integrity, and completeness throughout the migration process. This is a highly data-focused QA role with minimal emphasis on UI testing. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience validating data within Snowflake, and a passion for automation and modern engineering practices. Due to increased productivity and engagement monitoring, local candidates are strongly preferred, although qualified remote candidates will still be considered. Responsibilities • Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and testing. • Validate Snowflake and dbt data transformations. • Perform source-to-target, duplicate detection, and data integrity testing. • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python. • Collaborate with Data Engineers to validate business rules and transformation logic. • Leverage GitHub Copilot as part of the development and testing workflow. • Document defects, testing results, and validation findings. Required Qualifications • Strong SQL experience focused on data validation and query-based testing. • Hands-on experience with Snowflake. • Experience testing dbt transformations and data pipelines. • Python automation experience. • Experience performing data integrity, reconciliation, and duplicate record testing. • Experience using GitHub Copilot and willingness to actively leverage AI-assisted development tools. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers). • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or Cypress. • Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse or cloud data platform initiatives.
