FLSA Classification: Salary, Exempt Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Monday to Friday; Remote Reports to: Vice President, Medical Affairs Location: Fully Remote Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Director, Medical Communication and Training to join our team. This role will ensure our Medical Affairs (including MSLs), Market Access (including Payer Account Directors), and Commercial colleagues are fully prepared to engage effectively and compliantly with healthcare providers, investigators, payer stakeholders, and treatment centers on the science supporting TCR-based therapies in solid tumors. This leader will design and lead dynamic training programs that enhance scientific fluency, field readiness, and excellence in scientific exchange. The role will also oversee the creation of compliant field medical and market access tools, support launch readiness for key milestones in melanoma and other solid tumors and drive the development of educational and scientific content for advisory boards, medical information responses, and other projects. Working cross-functionally with Field Medical and Market Access leadership, this position will translate insights from the field into impactful learning solutions, sharpen external engagement tools, and accelerate organizational readiness across the product lifecycle. This position will also collaborate broadly across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and other internal business partners to ensure alignment, consistency, and impact of training programs and scientific content across the organization. What You’ll Do: Training & Development • Design, implement, and continuously evolve onboarding and advanced training programs for Medical Affairs and Commercial teams, with a focus on field-based teams, covering disease state education, product knowledge, competitive landscape, and clinical data. This will also include pipeline assets for Medical Affairs. • Prepare field teams for external scientific exchange on Immatics’ pipeline, with emphasis on anzutresgene autoleucel (anzu-cel, IMA203), IMA203CD8, and PRAME as a tumor antigen target. • Implement ongoing training initiatives to reinforce knowledge, update teams on new data, and strengthen scientific skills over time. • Establish and implement certification processes to confirm MSL readiness for customer-facing activities. Field Tools & Customer Engagement • Develop and maintain scientifically accurate, balanced, and compliant field resources, including slide decks, FAQs, and data summaries for HCP engagement. Partner with Field Medical and Commercial leadership to equip field teams with tools that support consistent, high-quality scientific exchange. • Collaborate cross-functionally on training related to congress data and scientific meetings. Compliance & Review • Oversee preparation and submission of external facing field materials for internal review (MRC/PRC), ensuring adherence to all regulatory, legal, and compliance standards. • Function as the subject-matter expert on compliant medical communication and scientific exchange principles. Strategic Training Roadmap • Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy tied to regulatory milestones, launch readiness, and corporate objectives. • Apply adult learning principles and innovative digital platforms to create engaging, effective training programs. • Establish metrics and feedback systems to evaluate training effectiveness and continuously adapt based on insights and field performance. Maintain a central repository of training materials and scientific resources to ensure version control, consistency, and global accessibility. • Identify training gaps and field needs through insight gathering and feedback loops; translate gaps and needs into actionable solutions. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment of training and tools with corporate strategy. • Support preparation for academic and scientific meetings (e.g., investigator meetings, advisory boards, leadership meetings) with tailored materials. • Manage vendor partnerships supporting training platforms, content development, and delivery systems to ensure quality and operational excellence. Required Experience and Education: • Advanced scientific/medical degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD, or APN). • Minimum 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Education, or Scientific Communications within biotech/pharma. • Proven success designing and executing scalable training programs and developing compliant field medical and market access materials. • Strong oncology background required; experience in immuno-oncology or cell therapy highly preferred. • Familiarity with TCR biology, antigen targeting, or adoptive cell therapy is a plus. • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, engaging content. • Strong knowledge of US regulatory standards and review processes (MRC/PRC). • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills. • Strong strategic planning, operational execution, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced biotech environment. Preferred Attributes: • Experience supporting Medical Affairs and Commercial teams from pre-launch through launch, with demonstrated ability to adapt training and content needs across product lifecycle stages. • Background with TCR T-cell therapies, CAR T-cell therapies, or other adoptive cell therapies, including experience in the development of external-facing scientific materials and training programs to support field engagement. • Familiarity with adult learning principles and hands-on experience using modern learning platforms (e-learning, virtual classrooms, mobile learning tools). • Strong track record of innovative training delivery methods, incorporating digital solutions, interactive workshops, and continuous learning approaches. • Ability to proactively identify training gaps and field needs through insight gathering and feedback loops and translate them into actionable solutions. There may be frequent interruptions with moderate noise levels and frequent use of printers, copiers, scanners, computers and other office equipment.
