The HIM/RCM Product Specialist will act as a strategic advisor and HIM subject matter expert, guiding product strategy and ensuring solutions meet usability and compliance standards. This role involves collaboration with design and engineering teams to enhance AI-driven HIM solutions and support commercialization efforts.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in HIM and strong exposure to HIS and RCM. Advanced certifications in HIM, coding, or RCM are preferred, along with a solid understanding of U.S. coding standards.
The Health Information Management (HIM) & RCM Product Specialist will serve as a strategic advisor to the iMedX Products and Technology team. This role ensures that innovative, AI-driven Health Information Management solutions—including auto-coding, grouping, and AI-guided coding assignment functionalities—are designed and delivered to meet both internal and client needs. As the HIM Subject Matter Expert (SME), the specialist will guide product strategy, partner with design and engineering teams, support commercialization efforts, and ensure that solutions meet the highest standards of usability and compliance. This role will play a vital part in positioning iMedX’s HIM products for success across Australia and global markets. This is a remote (work-from home) position. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Advisory Act as the primary HIM expert for the Products and Technology team. Provide strategic input on the design and development of AI-driven HIM solutions. Ensure product concepts align with real-world HIM workflows and standards. 2. Product Development & Enhancement Serve as SME to assist in the design and continuous improvement of HIS and RCM products. Collaborate across teams to ensure workflow alignment. Respond to product team inquiries promptly and clearly. Participate in daily product stand-up meetings. 3. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Lead UAT efforts on behalf of HIM users. Identify, troubleshoot, and recommend solutions to improve functionality. 4. Collaboration & User Experience Design Partner with design teams to create intuitive user experiences. Ensure UI/UX reflects HIM professionals’ workflow requirements. 5. Commercialization of Products Contribute HIM expertise to product positioning and market expansion strategies. Support commercialization efforts in Australia and global markets. 6. Customer Engagement & Support Conduct product demonstrations for customers. Provide strategic advisory to clients on medical records interpretation, clinical coding, and auditing. 7. Product & Technology Team Support Act as the go-to HIM advisor for the product and technology teams. Translate complex HIM requirements into actionable product features. Key Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, or related field. Advanced certifications in HIM, coding, or RCM preferred. Agile Product Development or Project Management training desirable. Experience:Minimum 10 years in HIM, with strong exposure to HIS and RCM. Proven track record in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for HIM/coding software. Experience with AI-driven coding solutions is highly desirable. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HIS and RCM workflows, clinical coding, and auditing. Essential knowledge of U.S. coding standards: ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, MS-DRG, and IR-DRG. (Candidates without this knowledge will not be considered.) Other Competencies: Exceptional communication skills—able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
