Description Job Summary/Objective This position is a key member of the OrthoHealth patient care team performing clinical and clerical services to support physicians and other healthcare providers in the delivery of high quality care. Operational Duties Greets and rooms patients Takes patient subjective, review medical history, medication list , etc Takes and records patient vitals and measurements imperative to OH program Prepares rooms and ensure supplies are ready, ordering more when necessary Navigates EMR software platforms for appointment/document review/retrieval Answers phone calls, respond to patient questions, and take messages Assists with front desk duties as assigned Educates patients on health conditions, treatment, and medications Addresses patient questions regarding plan of care Manages pre-authorizations for prescribed medication as needed Transmits prescription refills as directed Starts new patient’s initial note from physician template from patient intake prior to patient appointment Performing administrative office procedures, including: coordinating appointments and procedures for patients, gathering and managing necessary documents (i.e. medical record, test results), triaging and responding to physician’s phone calls, as needed. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment All other duties as assigned Requirements Work Environment Fast paced professional physician office setting Varied work hours Required Education and Experience Medical Asst certification or college degree in healthcare field CPR certified Excellent communication and organizational skills Phlebotomy skills, collecting and preparing laboratory specimen Empathic and sensitive to patients struggling with obesity Willingness to learn about the disease of obesity and patient centered language Understanding of medications, obtaining prior authorizations Knowledge and familiarity with Epic EMR system is preferred but not required Team player with ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure Detailed oriented and demonstrates effective time management Physical Requirements Ability to lift a maximum of 2t pounds to waist height Ability to be standing and sitting on a frequent basis during the day Ability to work on a computer on a frequent basis during the day Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
