IHI Turbo America (ITA) provides comprehensive engineering and manufacturing support, from advanced engineering to mass production, for customers across the NAFTA region from its Midwest location in Shelbyville, IL. The company designs and manufactures a full range of turbocharger products and accessories for diesel, gasoline, and natural gas engines serving agricultural, industrial, marine, commercial truck, and military markets. ITA is the only company in the world that mass produces screw superchargers, supplying them to marine, fuel cell, and automotive internal combustion engine customers. The company also distributes IHI turbocharger products through a network of regional distributors in North and South America, offering applicants the opportunity to contribute to a global, innovation-driven organization. The Technical Program Manager will lead the launch of specific turbocharger and supercharger programs. This role may be located in Shelbyville, IL or Southfield, MI. PREREQUISITES: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required. Master's degree preferred. • 5+ years of experience in automotive product development, engineering, or program management. • Experience leading automotive hardware development programs from concept through launch. • Experience with turbochargers, superchargers, powertrain systems, engine components, thermal systems, or related mechanical products is highly desirable. • Experience working with OEM customers and Tier-1 automotive suppliers is preferred PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Knowledge of automotive product development and launch • Serve as the primary program interface between IHI and customer engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams. • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of product development from quotation and concept selection through production launch. • Manage program scope, timing, budget, risk, and customer deliverables. • Coordinate engineering activities related to product design, validation, supplier development, and manufacturing readiness. • Evaluate program risks and implement mitigation plans to maintain launch timing and budget objectives. • Ensure readiness for prototype, DV, PV, PPAP, and production launch events. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, validation plans, and manufacturing process documentation. • Practice professional acumen when using influence and persuasiveness to hold both IHI and customer team members responsible for completing their tasks on time. • Knowledge of industry standard program launch phase gate system and project milestones (Concept Validation, Design Validation, APQP, Process Validation, PPAP, etc.) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance.
