Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and analytically driven Abuse Prevention Manager to join our team. This mid-level role will be instrumental in analyzing existing and emerging policy abuse patterns, developing detection rules, and optimizing prevention strategies across our platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a high-volume transaction or user environment and a strong desire to stay ahead of malicious actors. Job Expectations: • Proactively monitor transaction and user data to identify suspicious patterns, trends, and vulnerabilities related to policy abuse, account takeover (ATO), promotional abuse, content spam, and other forms of platform manipulation. • Develop, test, and implement new detection rules, machine learning features, and models using internal tools and third-party systems. • Conduct deep-dive investigations into complex abuse schemes, documenting findings and presenting actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams. • Manage and fine-tune existing prevention systems, regularly analyzing rule performance (Precision and Recall) to minimize false positives while maximizing catch rates. • Serve as an escalation point for complex review cases, providing expert analysis and final disposition decisions. • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science teams to define data requirements and improve the accuracy and efficiency of abuse-fighting tools. • Generate regular reports on key policy abuse metrics (e.g., reship rates, reseller performance, rewards balance anomalies) and communicate performance, risks, and insights to management. • Work closely with Product, Customer Support, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure a coordinated approach to risk mitigation and policy enforcement. • Maintain vendor relationships and assist with contracting, renewals, and maintenance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Required: • Proven problem solver with strong analytical skills, able to spot non-obvious patterns. • Proven track record of process improvements in fraud /risk management • Accuracy and attention to detail required. Accountability a must • Desire to obtain the truth, to dig deeper until it is uncovered, then translate into actionable intelligence. • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet established deadlines. • Ability to identify patterns and formalize complex ideas into simple stories. • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment without compromising customer experience or financial loss. • Solid understanding of fraud and abuse dynamics in online platforms • Team player, able to inspire and influence others' behaviors towards company goals. Equipment Knowledge: • MS Office and Google Docs, CRM tools experience. Strong Excel skills. • Tableau proficiency. • Human Security experience. • Splunk Experience Experience Requirements: Generally requires a minimum of seven (7) years in policy abuse/trust and safety investigations, preferably in an e-Commerce environment and marketplace. Combination of experience and education may be used to fulfill requirements.
