Job Summary: Biogas Field Service Technicians are responsible for performing activities associated with the safe and efficient operations of electrical and mechanical systems at their assigned site(s). Responsibilities will include performing a variety of skilled operational and maintenance tasks throughout the day which includes interfacing with the SCADA systems, running analytical tests, and performing the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal/replacement of various types of electrical and mechanical systems. This role is well-suited for individuals who thrive in an independent work environment and are capable of managing priorities and responding to issues during off-hours with limited to no on-site support. Primary Responsibilities: Operate and maintain biogas plants, including anaerobic dairy manure digesters, gas upgrading equipment, and ancillary equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation. Perform planned routine maintenance and unplanned repairs on above equipment. Documentation of work completed in logs, and drawings for all designated equipment. Conduct instrument calibration as scheduled/required. Troubleshoot and diagnose plant operation and equipment problems. Collect and analyze data to analyze digester health such as pH, TSS and biogas quality. Maintain a clean and presentable plant environment, take pride in your site. Adhere to safety regulations and procedures. Other tasks in support of IGS RNG operations as required. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work Schedule This position is designed as a weekend-focused role. Following the onboarding and training period, the regular schedule will be either Thursday through Monday (8-hour shifts) or Friday through Monday (10-hour shifts), based on operational needs. The onboarding and training period will be conducted on a Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shift schedule to support effective training, safety alignment, and integration with the broader team. The onboarding period is expected to be approximately 90 days, though the duration may be shorter or longer depending on the skills, experience, and readiness of the individual hired. This position may require extended working hours and schedule adjustments based on workload, site conditions, and operational requirements. Weekend, holiday, and on-call availability is required. Travel to various sites in western Ohio and Indiana is expected. The ideal candidate will live within a 30 minute drive of Convoy, Ohio. Minimum Education and Experience: Associate's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or agricultural engineering, or related experience. In lieu of an associate’s degree, 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation. 2+ years of experience in biogas plant operation and maintenance or wastewater facility operation and maintenance preferred. PLC programming experience preferred Strong understanding of biogas production and conversion processes or willingness to learn. Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with experience working with 24-480 V systems. Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, a current or future need for sponsorship is not supported or available for this position. Salary Range: $59,850.00 - $95,760.00 *This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
