Work Authorization: Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. Salary Range: $78,000 – $93,000 depending on experience Role and Responsibilities ideas42 is seeking mission-aligned team members to join our Financial Health team. You will have an opportunity to do work that drives financial health for people living on low- to moderate- incomes by working on creating or refining products, institutional processes, and systems change. Diagnosing behavioral problems and designing behaviorally informed interventions and products is integral to what we do. Most of the team’s work is in the United States, though there are opportunities to work with international partners. All team members are supported for their growth internally and externally, ultimately preparing them for a wide range of roles in both the private and public sector. Our team works towards a financial system that: Supports people in financial distress Building an emergency fund or improving your credit score, are hard to achieve while in financial distress. Our work aims to ensure financial products, services and policies are designed to support people in financial distress, including: Making reaching out for help easy and normalizing it, especially at moments when people might avoid it. Making it easy for people facing financial stress to find and understand safe, affordable products that could help them navigate their circumstances. Building flexibility and guardrails into products. Enables more people to leverage opportunities Our financial system offers tools to build wealth and create long-term financial well-being; tools like mortgages, 529 college savings plans, business loans, and tax-advantaged accounts and programs, like those for clean energy products. However, people with lower incomes and marginalized groups access and use these tools at significantly lower rates. We aim to ensure these tools are designed to ensure equitable access (raise awareness and intention) and use these tools by people with low-to-moderate incomes and people of color. Responsibilities will include: Managing projects, including intervention design, field work/project implementation, monitoring, and impact evaluation; serving as the day-to-day contact for partners and clients Managing and developing relationships with external partners and stakeholders Designing full-scale project plans, structure, and timelines Assisting/leading primary and secondary research such as surveys, interviews, and literature reviews Assisting/leading solution design and development, such as brainstorming, sketching, and user testing Contributing to briefs, blog posts, grant proposals, and other external communications Collaborating with peer and junior staff, and mentoring more junior staff Participating in internal strategic projects, including various aspects of organizational improvement Qualifications Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of relevant work experience Mission-aligned, self-starter Willing to ask questions, make suggestions and discover ways to make things work better; Also willing to be wrong, and figure out how to make it right Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of statistics Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to high-quality output Available and willing to travel on a flexible schedule as needed (typically less than 25%) Record of academic excellence and/or excellent recommendations from prior work Creative, smart, logical and structured thinkers Collaborates effectively with colleagues Preferred qualifications Experience with Stata, R or other statistical analysis tools Financial services experience A background in strategy, marketing, or product management & client-facing experience Passion for understanding human behavior and pursuing innovation About ideas42 We’re a non-profit looking for deep insights into human behavior—into why people do what they do—and using that knowledge in ways that help improve lives, build better systems, and drive social change.
