The Training Specialist will develop and maintain training curricula and learning products for behavioral health services aimed at immigrating children and their families. They will collaborate with subject matter experts and project team members to ensure effective training delivery and continuous improvement.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in developing training content related to immigration and family services. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree and experience with e-learning software.
The Training Specialist works on a national direct services project that provides behavioral health services to immigrating children and their families and provides training and other learning and development support to the provider network. The Training Specialist will use his/her expertise in adult learning to develop learning and training content and facilitate learning events. The Training Specialist has broad knowledge of content development, adult learning principles and effective training and learning strategies for health and human service professionals. He/she will work closely with and under the oversight of the Training and Outreach Manager to execute contract deliverables and services. This role is only guaranteed through January 2026. Key Responsibilities: Work with subject matter experts, translators, and other project team members to develop, update, and maintain training curricula, e-learning modules, presentations, and other learning and training products with learning objectives Participate in the development of new content within a team environment including subject matter experts, technical experts, and project managers. Identify existing resources and research best practices related to providing behavioral health and other services for immigrating children and their families Inform the development of an annual training plan, including topics, objectives, and audience pain points, needs, and challenges Utilize available research and data for exploration of problems and issues identified for immigrating children and their families Design training content, including learning objectives, goals, behavioral anchors, modules, interactive activities, instructional materials, transfer of learning activities, and other materials as appropriate. Determine appropriate design and delivery method to achieve learning goals, including synchronous, asynchronous, videos, e-learning modules, job aids, and other modalities. Monitor and track participation in and satisfaction with learning events, hold debriefs and use resulting data and information for continuous improvement of learning strategies. Assist with authoring, proofing and quality control of products and training. Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal content guidance documents, including style guide, audience personas, and others as needed. Support facilitation of live events, including presenting, in partnership with subject matter experts, as needed, developing facilitators’ guides, responding to chats and attendee needs in real time, and coordinating and running dry runs and run of shows. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in English, communications, education, instructional design, or related field 3+ years experience developing written content for trainings or learning products 3+ years direct experience developing and delivering content related to immigration, children and families, or a related field. 3+ years minimum experience managing tasks or projects to deadlines Preferred Skills: Master’s Degree in social work, English, education, instructional design, or related field. 5+ years professional immigration work experience Experience using CANVA and developing graphics Experience using articulate storyline or other similar software to develop e-Learning Experience developing learning experiences on federal contracts. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
