Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist Reports To: Production Control Manager Department: Inventory Location: Mason, Ohio General Function: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the proper reporting of daily production against job orders, materials received amp; consumed as well as the accurate depletion of inventory though finished goods shipments amp; scrap transactions. Job Duties: • Accountable for inventory accuracy of raw materials, WIP amp; Finished goods within the ERP system. • Primary contact in problem solving when discrepancies arise from inventory, shipment amp; receipt transactions. • Research negative on and quantities daily in the perpetual system when they arise correcting the original error transaction. (Not by inventory quantity adjustments.) • Proof amp; gain assurance that daily production is reported timely amp; properly in the ERP system. Make correcting production quantity transactions on Job Orders amp; notify original transaction owners of discrepancies. • Verify daily scrap reporting via Job Orders for accuracy by reason code. Make correcting scrap transactions on Job Orders amp; notify original transaction owners of discrepancies. • Responsible for all direct labor hours reported to the proper Job Orders. Perform daily labor system audits. Run the Labor Edit report amp; analyze. Work with Supervisors amp; Team Leaders when operators do not report their time correctly. • Make manufacturing Job Order corrections: Follow proper procedures when correcting Job Orders for labor hours amp; reported production quantities. • When Job Orders are completed, work with Finance when significant variances occur in labor reporting to expected standards. • Assist Warehouse Manager with on hand inventory discrepancies making proper correcting transactions in the perpetual inventory system. • Make adjustments in the perpetual system for biweekly cycle counts of blanks. Determine the root cause of significant variances amp; determine methods to prevent recurrence. • Perform weekly cycle counts of components obtaining an understanding of significant variances amp; making proper corrections to the perpetual inventory system. • Assist Production Control Manager with the precise tracking of inventory flowing through outside processes. (Outside painting process). Assist in the proper reporting of inventory that exits the plant, what is on hand at the outside painter amp; what is received back at our warehouse. • Responsible for all inventory receipts amp; returns in the facility. Work closely with receiving personnel in aiding them with transaction problems. Solve their issues quickly to get the inventory receipt transacted properly in the perpetual system. (Example: Purchase Order discrepancies). • Assist Shipping personnel with system problems when creating shipping documentation. (Example: Sales Order discrepancies). • Assist in physical inventory audits. • Develop amp; participate in inventory reduction programs or improved flow projects. • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects for scheduling, shipping, receiving amp; inventory accuracy. • Support Management Team members with their goals amp; initiatives. • Communicate with clarity, patience, encouragement amp; respect for others. Working Conditions: Office and Plant environments -- working around machinery as well as working in a traditional office work environment. Physical Component(s): Office and Plant Environments – Standing/Walking 30% of the Day Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience Other Requirements: • Strong communication skills • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Manufacturing business systems • Strong organization skills • Interpersonal skills; customer oriented • Display independent judgment and initiative • Team Oriented
