Best in Business, Health Services POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE: The Diagnostic Family Specialist will conduct initial parent assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) evaluations. Engage families in structured interviews and standardized assessments (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT) to gather developmental, behavioral, and social-emotional insights. This role will foster a success-oriented, accountable environment while supporting families with compassion and clinical excellence. The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position. POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are duties and responsibilities that the Diagnostic Family Specialist holds: Conduct structured ASD-related assessments virtually with families. Administer standardized rating scales and parent interviews (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT). Upload completed assessments and maintain accurate client files. Collaborate with the clinical team to support timely ASD evaluations. Document assessment outcomes and family interactions per clinical guidelines. Ensure professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity during assessments. Work closely with the Diagnostic Team to address client needs. Hold availability during the afternoon, evenings, while maintaining weekend availability including at least two Saturdays per month EDUCATIONAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: The Diagnostic Family Specialist requires an Associates Degree. A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Special Education is preferred, and: Clinical background or relevant experience working with children and families impacted by developmental disabilities (therapy experience not required). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and assessments. Comfortable conducting assessments in a virtual environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Familiarity with ASD assessment tools (BASC-3, Vineland-3, SRS-2, M-CHAT) preferred but not required.
