Job Title: SME - Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Director Position Overview: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for communications, reporting, and stakeholder engagement within a statewide educational assessment program. Lead a dedicated communications team to design, implement, and evaluate public-facing materials that promote transparency, accessibility, and understanding of assessment outcomes. Reports to the Program Manager and collaborates with other SMEs in data and item development. Key Responsibilities: SME-Led Daily Operations • Lead the communications function as a domain expert, guiding the development of high-quality materials (manuals, videos, guides) tailored to diverse stakeholder needs • Ensure editorial excellence, accessibility compliance, and technical accuracy across all deliverables • Oversee web content strategy and updates using content management tools Strategic and Technical Leadership • Serve as the communications SME in the design and refinement of student score reports and performance dashboards • Lead stakeholder engagement and usability studies, applying expert judgment to refine communication strategies • Facilitate statewide virtual sessions to support interpretation of assessment results Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure all deliverables meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, supporting inclusive and equitable communication goals.
