The general salary range for this position is $105,300 – 157,900. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education. Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Project Manager II for the Technology & Information Solutions department. The main responsibility of this position is to organize projects, process optimizations and oversee all phases of assigned projects. This position works closely with departments across the entire organization, leading small, medium, and large technology projects including enterprise-wide projects. Drives strategy and technology roadmap for assigned line(s) of business. Responsibilities: • Leads projects teams with minimal oversight by Project Management Office (PMO) management. Leads projects utilizing standard project management procedures for the planning, scheduling, risk management, requirements management, technical specification creation, budget, and fiscal management of projects; • Communicates with stakeholders, team members and end users utilizing best practices such as project kick-offs, regular meetings, and retrospectives. Maintains project documentation and communications on MS SharePoint and Teams. Works with internal communications specialist to ensure messaging to end users is clear and consistent with organization standards; • Creates and maintains, through meetings with stakeholders, technology project portfolios and roadmaps for assigned lines of business; • Provides process governance across all business improvement initiatives from concept to implementation within assigned technology areas; • Measures the success of projects and tracks the benefits realized; • Continuously improves project management processes. Collects lessons learned and drives process improvement within the PMO team processes. Qualifications and Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or other relevant field or equivalent work experience required; • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in project management with progressive experience utilizing strategic and critical thinking and creativity required; • PMP certification strongly preferred; • Experience using project management and other productivity related software preferred; • Proven experience taking business requirements from concept to execution in a solution that is efficient and delivers expected results, including defining roles, stakeholder involvement, scope, risks, dependencies, deliverables, documentation and review and approval processes required; • Experience with vendor relations required; • Experience developing and maintaining project governance preferred; • Solid understanding of the principles of business management systems and business process workflow; • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high degree of accuracy with large, diverse project teams; • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes; • Ability to plan, write and oversee communications, including providing timely and accurate status updates; • A perpetual learner and excited to experiment with new tools, processes, formats, methods and ideas; • Takes initiative, not afraid to fail, asks thoughtful questions and works to continuously improve processes; • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member; • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high-energy, self-motivated and proactive; • Ability to manage change and to facilitate smooth transitions to operations; • Organizational, project and priority management skills for planning, executing and following up on issues, projects and daily responsibilities in order to meet established deadlines; • Strong interest in animal protection preferred. This position is in the DC Metro Area - Remote Eligible.
