As a COBOL/IDMS Developer at HTC Global Services, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing legacy systems that are vital to our clients' operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and support COBOL applications integrated with IDMS databases, ensuring high performance and reliability. What You'll Do: - You will develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs interfacing with IDMS databases. - You will analyze and resolve technical issues related to legacy systems. - You will collaborate with business analysts and clients to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - You will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - You will document system designs, processes, and updates for future reference. - You will support system integration and deployment activities. - You will provide technical support and troubleshooting for production environments. - You will stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to COBOL and IDMS technologies. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in COBOL programming and IDMS database management. - Strong understanding of mainframe environments and batch processing. - Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning of COBOL applications. - Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with other mainframe technologies such as CICS, JCL, or DB2. - Knowledge of modernizing legacy systems or migrating to newer platforms. - Familiarity with Agile development practices. - Certification in COBOL or related technologies.
