Engineering Program Manager Description - Job Summary • This role is responsible for managing day-to-day activities for medium scale programs with limited scope, by leveraging basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts. The role collaborates with design engineering and management teams, and manages project plan, risks, documentation, and communication. The role also collaborates with relevant stakeholders for product, process, and practice improvements, while leading their defined area of responsibility. Responsibilities • Supports a single to a few projects within a medium scale program involving one or more functions driving the engineering development and implementation process for products or service offerings. • Works with management and design engineering to identify key projects, defines their success criteria and drives the projects to closure. • Drives day to day program activities to meet overall program objective. • Provides development support for project communications, including creation of status reports and summaries, tracking escalations and resolutions of issues, coordinating stakeholder meetings and updates, and updating documentation. • Develops portions of project documentation in accordance with provided plan and detailed specifications, including budgets, resource allocation plans, and other support requirements under minimal guidance. • Collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices. • Develops and manages multiple hardware development project schedules with engineering teams and communicates project status to stakeholders. • Identifies and highlights technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in partnership with the company's technologists. Education & Experience Recommended • Four-year Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. • Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.
