We are looking for a self-driven passionate Senior Frontend Developer to join our growing team. You would be a key frontend developer working on our flagship product, the Property Management Platform with a team of about a dozen other engineers, quality assurance engineers, and product managers. We're looking for someone who has a focus on quality and a sense of pride in their work. This person should also be able to be assertive and also flexible, while also being excited and curious about finding the best ways to solve problems within the context of our business strategy. Communication and team building skills are also key to success. Hostfully is an award winning platform and company. The company won the prestigious VRMB award for Best All Around Property Management Software for short term and vacation rentals. and we also won the 2022 Shortyz Award for Best Property Management System. Hostfully’s Guidebooks are also known as the industry’s best-in-class solution for the guest experience. We are disrupting the vacation rental industry with new technology that transforms the lives of our customers. We are preferred partner of Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com and are also integrated with over 60 software partners including Stripe, Paypal and Google. Our customers are short term rental and vacation rental managers who manage between 5-1,000 properties. They rely on Hostfully’s platform to run their business, including: • Instant distribution across leading bookings platforms Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and Google • Streamline and automate operations • Automate and ease communications with travelers and owners We are looking for a self-driven developer to build our products -- making them more powerful and easier to use for our customers. A successful candidate will have a love of all things React and a solid experience creating reusable components and building user-friendly interfaces. Your main goals will be to join together with the team in increasing development velocity. You will take ownership of a few key components in the system that are essential for customers and your work will make a real impact on the business. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual who thrives on challenges and is looking for an opportunity to take their experience to the next level. What You Will Do: • Work with a great team of senior developers to improve the Hostfully Property Management Platform • Take ownership of a few key components of the system • Participate in agile ceremonies • Build for scalability, stability, performance, security and reusability • Promote best practices within the team Skills Required: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, software development, or related field • 4+ years of frontend development for complex web applications using React • Web development fundamentals, including JavaScript, TypeScript and Redux • Successful track record of using design patterns to solve problems • Responsive design • UI/UX experience, keen business awareness skills and empathy for the customer • Strong experience debugging client-side performance issues • History implementing the shift left strategy, including automated unit testing, preferably with Cypress • Expertise with integrating UIs with REST APIs and GraphQL • Working knowledge of OAuth or other API authorization protocol • Relational databases such as MySQL • Agile and test-driven development best practices • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Nice to have: • Familiarity with AWS is a plus • Experience with short term rental property management is a plus About You: • Passionate about solving world-changing problems in the vacation rental industry • Enjoy being part of a dynamic, fast-growing startup • Take ownership of your work • Apreciate process and communication What We Offer: • Remote work • Generous vacation • Flexible working hours • Generous maternity and paternity leave • Equity benefits • We cover business travel expenses • Solve big, challenging problems in a stimulating, dynamic environment • Work closely with a tight-knit team Ideal Candidate • Fluent English with solid oral and written communication skills • Familiar with Jira, Confluence, IntelliJ, Bitbucket, SQL, AWS • Enthusiasm for receiving, sharing and acting on feedback • Passion for working closely with a small team to collaborate and drive personal improvement Hostfully's co-founders are based in San Francisco and we are a completely remote team. For this role, we are searching for someone who is near the EST timezone, or in Europe to make it easier to schedule and plan meetings. Our development team is located in the US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France, Poland, Kosovo, the Czech Republic, Turkey.
