Job Title: Operations Coordinator Department: Operations Reports To: Operations Manager and Executive Director Status: Part-Time ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION The mission of Hospitality House Food Pantry is to minimize deprivation in our community by providing food and assistance to those in need, while maintaining the utmost respect for the dignity of the individual. Hospitality House serves clients that are at or below 300% of the federal poverty guidelines, providing critical support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, helping to alleviate hunger, reducing financial stress, and building community. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Operations Coordinator supports the Operations Manager in day-to-day operations of Hospitality House Food Pantry, ensuring smooth and efficient pantry, warehouse, and program operations. This role is primarily hands-on and coordination-focused, assisting with inventory, volunteers, facilities, data tracking, food rescue, and community events. The Operations Coordinator works closely with the Operations Manager and provides operational continuity while supporting strategic and compliance efforts. JOB FUNCTIONS General Operations Support - Assist with daily pantry and warehouse operations. - Support annual inventory of all products and property. - Assist in implementing operational policies and procedures. - Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Volunteer Coordination - Assist with volunteer training. - Support volunteers in daily pantry operations. Product and Inventory Coordination - Coordinate and assist with food pickups and deliveries with community partners. - Maintain accurate pantry inventory and product rotation. - Monitor and record cooler and freezer temperatures. - Assist with tracking food received and distributed. - Support food sourcing and stocking efforts. Facility and Safety Support - Ensure cleanliness and safety of pantry and warehouse spaces. - Maintain cleaning and safety logs. - Coordinate basic facility maintenance. - Assist with vehicle and equipment tracking. Outreach and Events - Support community events such as holiday distributions and outreach programs. - Assist with partner communication and coordination. - Represent the pantry professionally at events as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS - Commitment to the mission and values of Hospitality House Food Pantry - High school diploma required - 1–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, nonprofit, or warehouse settings preferred - Valid Michigan Driver’s License - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds - Basic computer proficiency; Microsoft Office experience preferred - Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe preferred) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Ability to work collaboratively and independently - Strong attention to detail and organization - Flexible, dependable, and adaptable - Professional demeanor and appearance - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines -Ability to obtain certification in ServSafe and forklift Join us to be part of a lively team where your organizational talents will make a real difference!
