About the Role: Horton & Mendez is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support our attorneys through the full lifecycle of a litigated case. This role combines strong organizational skills with attention to detail, keeping case files, deadlines, and documentation on track from filing through trial preparation. What You'll Do: • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring documents and records stay current and accessible • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders • Request, track, and follow up on medical records, billing statements, and authorizations • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and other external parties What we are looking for: • Previous experience or education in the legal field is a plus but not required • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in preparing legal documents • Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines • Trustworthy and discreet when handling sensitive client and case information • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Proficient in MS Office Suite Bonus Points: • Experience with Filevine or similar case management systems • Prior experience in personal injury or litigation support • Familiarity with legal research tools Physical Requirements/Work Requirements & Environment • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times EEO Statement We are committed to hiring the best people for the job, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
