Global communications agency HOPSCOTCH seeks a Lead Event Manager to join our NYC-based Activations team. In this dynamic role, you’ll drive nationwide events from ideation to on-site execution. With your proactive mindset and knack for multitasking, you’ll manage budgets, partnerships, and logistics while ensuring every detail shines across festival activations, trade show builds, pop-ups, and large-scale dedicated brand events. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Own the full event lifecycle from concept to post‑mortem. • Head up all logistics: venues, AV, catering, permits, materials, etc. • Build and drive production budgets, timelines, run‑of‑show, and technical flows. • Lead on‑site setup, execution, troubleshooting, client experience, and teardown. • Negotiate vendor contracts; monitor performance and enforce SOPs. • Coordinate with internal teams (trade, digital, PR, client services) for holistic activations. • Anticipate issues and solve proactively in fast‑paced environments. • Present confidently and clearly to clients in-person and virtually. • Conduct post‑event debriefs, capture feedback, and track KPIs to inform improvements. • Expand and maintain vendor, supplier, and production partner networks. • Monitor industry trends and benchmark activations. • Partner with PR/digital teams to showcase event work across agency platforms. • Develop case studies and performance dashboards for sales and strategic planning. • Serve as right hand to the Director of Activation Strategy on event RFPs and pitches. • Directly supervise the Event Coordinator. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years in event production, especially large-scale or multi-format activations. • Strong budget ownership and financial reconciliation experience. • Exceptional multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving in high-pressure environments. • Outstanding client-facing communication and presentation skills. • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and assist with hands-on event setup. • Keen attention to detail coupled with big picture thinking. • Travel flexibility (approx. 25% domestically).
