At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote Little more about the team: Honeycomb’s Technical Field Enablement team sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, and our customer-facing technical functions. As our first dedicated Technical Field Enablement hire, you’ll build and own the foundation of how our Solutions Architects, Customer Architects, Technical CSMs, and Support Engineering teams develop deep product fluency and technical readiness. This is a highly visible, high-impact role that operates as the connective tissue across the organization—ensuring our field teams can confidently position, demonstrate, and deliver Honeycomb’s value to customers. You will have the autonomy to shape our technical enablement strategy end-to-end and scale a world-class program as our product and customer needs evolve. What you’ll do in the role: Own the strategy, design, and execution of Honeycomb’s technical field enablement programs—from onboarding to ongoing development—for SAs, CAs, TCSMs, and Support Engineering teams. Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses across technical field roles to define multi-quarter learning paths and technical readiness priorities. Build and maintain high-quality technical enablement content, including self-paced modules, live training, hands-on labs, demos, and certifications. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and PMM to ensure technical field teams are fully enabled on new product capabilities, roadmap themes, observability concepts, and customer use cases. Drive global alignment and consistency for all technical enablement initiatives, including product releases, major launches, and partner-led technical programs. Define, track, and report on enablement effectiveness using field productivity metrics, skill assessments, and stakeholder feedback. Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with field engineering leadership and cross-functional technical stakeholders to ensure enablement priorities stay aligned to business needs. What you’ll bring to the role: 5+ years of experience in technical enablement, field readiness, or technical program management within a SaaS or developer-tools environment. Background in a customer-facing technical role (SA, TCSM, CA, or similar) with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into digestible, engaging learning experiences. Demonstrated ability to build structured, scalable enablement programs that serve multiple technical personas across the customer journey. Strong cross-functional stakeholder management experience, with a track record of aligning Engineering, Product, PMM, and Revenue teams around shared technical readiness goals. Proven experience operating autonomously and owning program strategy, content creation, and outcomes end-to-end. Familiarity with observability, cloud-native architectures, and technologies such as OpenTelemetry, tracing, metrics, and logs. Proficiency with learning delivery tooling (LMS, CMS) and comfort facilitating technical trainings for diverse learner audiences. Ability to measure and communicate the impact of enablement programs through data, insights, and field performance outcomes.
