Company Description Young Homeowners League (YHL), a 501c3 nonprofit, promotes affordable homeownership through education and developing more starter homes. We target base starter home as 4-bedroom, 1000 ft² and $150,000 cost. We also arrange 50% ownership $75,000, and 25% ownership $40,000 with exclusive use of a bedroom. Homeownership Planning Corps is a nonprofit coalition, led by YHL, dedicated to helping future homeowners plan early to work, save, and build strong credit so they can achieve homeownership while still young. This is a part-time unpaid volunteer role for the Captain of Homeownership Planning Corps at a place of work and is supported in the Houston, TX area. The Captain will be responsible for leading and coordinating homeownership planning advocating programs at the community. 1. Start a Homeownership Planning Corps club or group at your place of work, with permission or support from the management or HR. 2. Attract more co-workers to join. 3. Assist each non-homeowner member to create a homeownership plan and update it at least once a year until becoming homeowner. 4. Arrange discussions, workshops, and events. YHL can provide speakers. Contact YHL if need help. 5. Coordinate members who like to buy land together (to reduce cost) or buy homes in the same area, or co-buy homes. 6. Produce social media material for sharing experiences. Qualifications Must be employed and interested in helping co-workers to become homeowners
