The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) is seeking a visionary and experienced Senior Director of Communications, Marketing, and Education to lead and shape the organization's strategic messaging, brand, and public presence. This executive role is responsible for the overall strategy, development, and execution of comprehensive communication, marketing, and education initiatives that advance the organization’s mission, enhance its reputation, and drive engagement among all key stakeholders. Key responsibilities • Strategic leadership: Develop and implement an integrated, multi-year strategic communications, marketing, and education plan that aligns with the HCAOA’s mission and objectives. • Brand management: Serve as the chief brand steward, ensuring consistent and compelling brand identity and messaging across all channels and platforms. • Media engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the media to ensure that HCAOA’s voice has a local and national presence. Increase HCAOA’s exposure through interviews and articles published by news media. • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of professionals in communications, marketing, and education. Supervise the Director of Meetings and Education and the Marketing and Communications Manager. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture and oversee the department's budget and resource allocation. • Internal and external communications: Oversee the development and dissemination of all internal and external communications. This includes public relations, media outreach, crisis communications, and internal messaging (e.g., HCAOA staff, committees, the Board, etc.) to ensure alignment and transparency. This role will oversee HCAOA’s weekly newsletter, which includes drafting content for it, and also help the Marketing and Communications Manager oversee HCAOA’s online communities. • Digital strategy: Champion the organization’s digital presence, including managing the website, SEO, and social media platforms. Leverage data analytics to measure impact and optimize strategies. • Marketing and campaign development and management: Direct the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns to increase visibility, engagement, and goal attainment (e.g., member growth, member retention, revenue growth). • Educational program oversight: Work in partnership with internal teams to develop and promote educational content and programs. This includes HCAOA’s annual National Conference, webinars and online learning resources, chapter events (virtual and in-person), and additional programming that support the HCAOA’s mission. • Caregiver of the Year Award: Oversee and coordinate the annual Caregiver of the Year Award and increase the exposure of the finalists and the work of caregivers. • Analysis and reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of all communication and marketing efforts, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the board of directors. Required qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus. • 10+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role. • A proven track record of successfully developing and implementing comprehensive, integrated marketing and communications strategies, as well as educational programming. • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. • Deep experience with digital marketing strategies, including SEO, content marketing, social media, and marketing automation. • Experience with events (both in-person and virtual), webinars, and other forms of educational content. • Strong leadership skills and the ability to build, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. • Strategic thinker with excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Desired skills • Experience in association work (preferably in healthcare). • Familiarity with branding strategies and change management. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a small team while managing multiple priorities.
