Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Dental Front Desk Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and effective communication between patients and the dental team. Duties • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression. • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software. • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing procedures including medical collections. • Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software. • Review and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Assist patients with intake forms, documentation review, and explanation of treatment plans. • Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; respond to patient inquiries promptly. • Process payments, co-pays, and perform basic medical billing tasks including CPT coding and ICD coding. • Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical records, and other administrative documents. • Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and document preparation. • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient care plans. Qualifications • Prior experience in dental office or medical administrative support preferred; clinic or hospital experience is a plus. • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth. • Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for billing purposes. • Familiarity with health information management practices and insurance verification processes. • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new software quickly. • Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities. • Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations. • Office experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; previous front desk or medical receptionist roles are advantageous. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in medical office management is beneficial.
