Full Description

We’re building the next generation of collaboration infrastructure — and we’re looking for a backend engineer who’s excited about smart contracts, protocols, and distributed systems to help us launch our next big product. Our first milestone? A modular workflow vault that makes it easier for teams and organizations to coordinate tasks, data, and permissions in a secure, scalable way. You’ll play a key role in designing and building the backend systems that power it. What you’ll do • Build the backend logic for new collaboration vault system • Create secure APIs and smart contract connections to support automation and permissions • Work with frontend engineers to ensure smooth experiences across on-chain and off-chain data • Partner with product and design to turn user needs into working features • Focus on performance, security, and scalability in everything you build • Help shape long-term protocol and data architecture decisions What we’re looking for • 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering • Strong skills in Solidity or distributed backend systems (Rust is a plus) • Solid understanding of EVM or distributed systems (experience with L2s like Arbitrum/Optimism is great) • Experience building APIs and system architecture • Comfortable working closely with product, design, and other engineers • Startup mindset: proactive, collaborative, and ready to own your work Nice to have: • Experience with DeFi, DAOs, or decentralized collaboration tools • Contributions to open-source blockchain or backend projects • Knowledge of identity, access control, or workflow automation Why join Hive • Be a founding engineer helping to shape a new decentralized infrastructure • Work with a fast, values-driven team building the future of collaboration • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and product ownership • Remote-first culture with flexible hours About Hive Hive is the productivity platform for modern teams — used by thousands of companies to manage projects, tasks, and collaboration in one place.
