Full Description

About the Role Hinge Health is a digital health company focused on delivering evidence-based solutions for musculoskeletal (MSK) pain. By combining personalized exercise therapy with virtual care, Hinge Health empowers individuals to manage and reduce chronic pain, improving quality of life and reducing healthcare costs. We partner with employers and health plans to provide these solutions at scale, helping organizations enhance employee health and productivity. We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join HingeSelect, a new, high-growth product initiative operating as an internal startup within Hinge Health. Our mission is to seamlessly connect members with the right care across three modalities: virtual orthopedic specialists, a high-performance network of in-person providers, and a growing surgical care offering. As a member of the Visits team, you will help scale this product by multiple orders of magnitude through 2026 and into 2027. Much of that scale rests on the systems this team owns: we are building HingeSelect's own scheduling platform, owning the full appointment lifecycle for first-party visits and extending into real-time booking with third-party provider networks. You will own end-to-end feature development: building the React Native experiences that guide members to care, and architecting the scalable Golang services that power them. This is a unique opportunity to build 0-to-1 features with the agility of a startup, while backed by the resources and data of a market leader. What You'll Accomplish Ship high-impact features: You will design, build, and deploy fullstack features that directly drive member growth and onboarding, helping us grow exponentially. Build for scale: You will architect and extend secure, scalable backend services (Golang, Postgres) that can handle 100x+ growth in volume. Own the member experience: You will craft intuitive, high-performance mobile experiences in React Native that simplify complex clinical journeys, from booking a visit to following a care plan. Elevate engineering standards: You will contribute to a culture of technical excellence by writing clean, well-tested code, performing thoughtful code reviews, and paying down technical debt to keep our velocity high. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non-internship, full-time professional software development experience. Strong practical coding skills across the stack (web, mobile, and backend), with experience leveraging data to drive product decisions. Experience designing APIs (REST or gRPC) and data models that are scalable and maintainable. Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with cross-functional partners and teammates. Passionate about our mission to help people overcome chronic pain and improve quality of life. Preferred Qualifications Strong Proficiency with AI-assisted development (e.g. Claude Code) and a passion for leveraging AI technologies to accelerate engineering velocity and design high-quality systems. Experience working in rapid-growth environments where you navigated ambiguity, iterated quickly, and built products 0-to-1. Familiarity with our core stack: React Native, React, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, Docker, Golang, AWS, Postgres, Temporal, and gRPC. Experience in healthcare, insurance tech, or high-compliance industries. Hinge Health Hybrid Model We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days per week, for the full 8 hours of a typical business day. The San Francisco office has a dog-friendly workplace program.
