Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, experience with steering and braking systems, knowledge of system engineering and validation, supplier coordination, and willingness to support onsite launch activities.
We are looking for a Sub System Technical Lead for the Steering and Brakes division. The engineer will support the development, integration, and validation of steering and braking systems across vehicle programs, ensuring compliance with all functional, performance, safety, and quality requirements. Responsibilities: • Support technical program activities for Steering & Brakes systems, acting as a point of contact between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams. • Assist in ensuring systems meet all functional, performance, cost, weight, and quality objectives. • Contribute to system-level activities from concept to end-of-life, including: • Concept studies, packaging, mechanical/thermal design, cost and weight analysis. • Prototype support, supplier coordination, sourcing, and tooling activities. • Validation, change management, and quality improvement initiatives. • Support technical issue resolution during all stages of the program, particularly for system integration and vehicle-level performance. • Contribute to vehicle development planning to ensure coherence of system behavior and availability of planned features. • Assist in releasing specifications to suppliers and managing requirements changes via Design Change Requests (DCR). • Support PROXI/Vehicle Configuration data entry in EOL/Service tools for correct assembly and service operations. • Support Manufacturing/Product Execution in defining assembly and test operations, troubleshooting system issues at the plant (Process Verification, Pre-Series, Job1, production ramp-up). Requirements / Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline. • Experience with steering systems (EPS, hydraulic, rack & pinion) and/or braking systems (ABS, ESC, hydraulic/electronic brakes). • Knowledge of automotive system engineering, DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, and validation methods. • Experience with supplier coordination and system specification release. • Familiarity with program management and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Willingness to support onsite launch activities.
