Job Description: We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Senior Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing operations of our Terminal. Responsibilities • Oversee daily trucking operations, including supervising and directing activities of staff in relation to transport operations such as dispatch, routing, load planning, and driver assignments • Manage fleet availability, utilization, performance, and maintenance to meet service expectations and customer demands. • Ensure efficient load scheduling, on-time deliveries, and compliance with all safety, transportation and government regulations (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other federal/state requirements). • Monitor driver performance, hours-of-service (HOS), and safety metrics; conduct investigations into incidents or accidents and implement corrective measures. • Collaborate with fleet maintenance teams to ensure vehicles meet operational, safety, and compliance standards. • Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles • Develop, implement, and monitor important indicators and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve service quality. • Plan, organize, and manage operations staff—including dispatchers, planners, and driver managers—to ensure consistent and efficient execution of tasks. • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, customers, and external partners to ensure service delivery and resolve escalated issues related to scheduling, service failures, or customer concerns. • Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arise) and to set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues • Collaborating with team members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives • Implement management recommendations, like proposed fees and change in movement schedule • Make recommendations for the acquisition of new equipment or the replacement of older equipment. • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation vendors; negotiate contracts and procurement of vehicles, equipment, and related services. • Take charge of investigations that look into customer complaints with regards to product delivery and other transportation-associated issues • Conduct audits, safety inspections, and performance evaluations to continuously improve operational efficiency and safety culture. • Maintain accurate operational records, including driver qualification files, logs, inspection reports, and other documentation as required. • Take proactive steps to address operational challenges, develop improvement plans, and implement management recommendations to enhance company performance and profitability. • Other duties as assigned by senior management.
