Full Description

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a non-profit higher education association, seeks an individual with experience working at a non-profit or institution of higher education. The Accreditation Processes Associate collaborates to implement accreditation services support and to provide process support for designated Vice Presidents, Directors, Associate Directors, Managers, and Coordinators as assigned. This position works closely with other staff across the organization, as well as with peer reviewers and contacts from HLC member institutions. Duties and Responsibilities Assists in entering and tracking data and materials related to accreditation processes Collaborates to ensure that accreditation support processes are effective, efficient, and well documented Provides the first level of technology support for accreditation systems to internal and external stakeholders Works closely with the Records Manager, filing and uploading documents into the records retention system in a timely manner Completes filing and uploading of documents for institutions and reviewers as directed Provides clerical support to Accreditation Services, including generating reports; sending communication to institutions and peer reviewers; and sending requests for information and follow up on process documentation to institutions Downloads and logs materials received and other materials from file sharing system and uploads them to records retention system Communicates regularly with internal and external stakeholders engaged in accreditation processes Provides support in the student survey processes Provides support to the conference call system or other systems to support peer review evaluations Assists in implementing accreditation processes as assigned Models a culture of professionalism by being flexible, dependable, responsible, and supportive of staff at all levels Maintains technology skills needed for position and adapts to technology changes as required Performs other duties as assigned Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience Experience in implementing or maintaining processes and programs Experience working with volunteers Strong ability to multi-task with acute attention to details Extensive experience with standard office software, technology, and equipment Experience in working with internal and external groups and individuals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to assist wherever needed Time management and organizational skills Flexible, dependable, and responsible Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience with MS Office, databases, document retention systems, Salesforce, and SharePoint preferre The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent accrediting agency founded in 1895. HLC accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States. HLC has approximately 60 employees. HLC is a hybrid work environment. In general, employees are expected to work in the HLC Chicago office on an occasional basis. Pay Scale and Benefits Information HLC offers a rich benefits package including an employer 10% contribution of base salary to the retirement plan; medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance options; long term disability insurance; and dedicated funding for professional development. HLC’s time-off includes 20 vacation days, 10 personal days, and a typical annual office closure for ten days in December. The annual pay range for this salary is expected to be $50k, although the actual salary for the position may vary based on experience, qualifications, knowledge of accreditation, and HLC budget considerations.
