Location: Bassett Medical Center Pay Rate: Salary - Salary Plan, 50,000.00 USD Annual Work Shift: Job Description Responsibilities Registered Dietetic Technician $50,000 - $55,000k at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY General Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the director of food and nutrition and the registered dietitian and licensed dietitian, the dietetic technician participates in the patient services area of the food and nutrition department. The dietetic technician is responsible for initial screening, coordinating with the patient services manager, supervising patient services, managing patient diet preferences, coordinating and validating diet orders with nursing, as well as continuing education on modified diets to ambassadors, in collaboration with RDs and LDs. Principal Duties & Responsibilities - Essential Functions All documentation in the medical record will be supervised by an RD, LD. ● Provide oversight of patient services and production staff as assigned. ● Monitor meal/nourishment/formula service as assigned by the director. ● Complete nutrition initial screens on patients. ● Document and maintain all patient and nutrition information in accordance with HIPAA standards. ● Ensure patient preferences, allergies, and other restrictions are recorded on meal tickets and that nutrition menus are carefully planned and adhered to at all meal and snack times. ● Complete initial nutrition screens on patients. ● Attend monthly patient services education in-services and assist RD and director on presentation topics. ● Present self in a professional manner in accordance with behavioral expectations of the facility and HHS. ● Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including the confidentiality and patient’s rights policies as outlined in the facility’s policies and procedures manual. ● Adhere to the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Program, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other mandatory programs in the facility as appropriate. ● Perform other tasks as may be assigned. Job Specifications ● Registration with the Commission of Dietetic Registration as a DTR and/or licensed with the state as an LD or LDT. ● Education: No degree required. ● Food handler or ServSafe certification as required per state regulation. ● Applicable work experience preferred. ● Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Word. ● Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
