Our client is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join their accounting team. This role supports financial close, technical accounting, internal controls, and process optimization across a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings deep US GAAP knowledge—especially ASC 944—and thrives in a collaborative, on-site culture. Must-Have Qualifications • CPA required (no exceptions) • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within insurance, warranty, or reinsurance • Strong US GAAP background with specific experience in ASC 944 (Insurance Accounting) • Experience with: • Month-end financial close and preparation of financial statements • Technical accounting memos and policy documentation • Internal controls over financial reporting (SOX-oriented mindset) • General ledger systems (Great Plains or MS Dynamics 365 preferred) • Advanced Excel: pivots, lookups, models Preferred Profiles • Big 4 or national accounting firm experience (Senior or Manager level with insurance clients highly preferred) • Background in insurance / warranty / reinsurance carriers • Titles that fit: Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant • Experience in PE-backed environments • Exposure to Planful, Blackline, or similar tools • Must be willing and able to work on-site in Sandy Springs Mon–Thu (no fully remote options) Schedule: On-site Mon–Thu, hybrid Friday only (#LI-Hybrid) Base Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications) Bonus: 10% – 15% target Benefits: • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance • Flexible Spending Account • Health Savings Account • 401(k) Plan with Company Match • Company-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability • Company-paid Life Insurance • Paid Holidays and Vacation • Employee Referral Program • Employee Assistance Program • Wellness Programs • Paid Community Service Opportunities • Tuition Reimbursement • Ongoing Training & Personal Development By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
