Provide patient care, perform clerical duties, and communicate with patients and staff in a pediatric acute care setting.
High school diploma or equivalent, applicable experience or licensure, and administrative skills in a hospital setting.
Department: Pediatric Acute Care Schedule: 24hrs per week, 12hr Night Shift 7:00pm-7:30am RESPONSIBILITIES: • Position includes some direct patient care for pediatric patients, in addition to clerical work and tasks to keep unit organized and stocked. • Greets patients, visitors, and new admissions. Answers general inquiries and schedules patients for appointments. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. • Performs general clerical duties including filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution. Creates various reports and documents as assigned. Helps patients/residents with basic technology and social media. • Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care. • Performs unit safety checks. Assists with meeting patient needs and escalates as appropriate. • May assist with meals, pass and collect trays, pass out activities, and transport patients/residents through facility. May assist with stocking supplies and keeping unit and patient rooms clean and orderly. • May maintain staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. • Preferred PCT or Nursing Assistant experience. • Experience with administrative skills in a hospital setting preferred.
