General Summary The Manager of Transformation Consulting is accountable for leading a portfolio of enterprise transformation initiatives and managing a team of consultants to ensure projects deliver measurable outcomes aligned with organizational goals. The Manager provides strategic direction, establishes priorities, and ensures consistent application of methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) across initiatives to drive operational excellence and enterprise value. In addition to overseeing project portfolios, the Manager is responsible for developing and managing consulting talent providing clear direction, removing barriers, allocating resources, and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. By setting expectations and monitoring performance through KPIs and governance processes, the Manager ensures that transformation efforts are executed with excellence and contribute to Henry Ford Health’s long-term sustainability. Principle Duties And Responsibilities Strategic Oversight & Portfolio Management: • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the transformation consulting portfolio, aligning projects with enterprise operating plan goals and long-term objectives. • Direct a portfolio of initiatives, prioritizing resources and managing timelines to ensure high-quality delivery. • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure success, providing regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership. • Ensure governance processes are applied consistently across the portfolio to sustain improvements, monitor impact, and reinforce accountability. Operational Excellence & Execution • Ensure consistent application of Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and CI methodologies across all consulting projects. • Review and approve system-level proposals, business cases, and ROI models to validate measurable value and enterprise alignment. • Identify risks, escalations, and interdependencies across the portfolio, and direct mitigation strategies. • Standardize execution practices and elevate operational excellence through consistent use of tools, processes, and performance measures. Change Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement • Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, leaders, and external partners, serving as the accountable leader for transformation delivery. • Oversee change management strategies that drive adoption of new technologies, tools, and practices across the enterprise. • Act as the escalation point for stakeholder concerns, ensuring resolution and alignment around enterprise-first priorities. • Champion transparency, collaboration, and shared accountability across departments and functions. People Leadership & Talent Development • Manage, coach, and evaluate the performance of consultants, ensuring professional growth and development of enterprise-first capabilities. • Provide clear direction, delegate responsibilities, and hold team members accountable for deliverables and outcomes. • Foster a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous learning within the consulting team. • Support succession planning and build a pipeline of talent prepared to lead future transformation efforts across the enterprise. Education/Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree is required. • A degree in industrial or related engineering, nursing, business administration (with quality/operations improvement emphasis), healthcare administration (with quality/operations improvement emphasis), organizational development, human factors, a science degree in a related field, or similar field is preferred. • 6+ years experience in project management, industrial engineering, health care administration or other related field required. • Ability to manage, simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines. • Ability to be flexible and adaptable while still meeting goals and due dates. Additional Preferences • Experience applying problem solving approaches. • Solid foundation and growing base of analytical/technical, facilitative, and process improvement tools/knowledge. • Strong knowledge of effective data gathering techniques. • Ability to thrive in a matrixed working environment. Certifications/Licensures Required Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
