Director of Pricing | Top AmLaw Firm (100% Remote) A growing, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a commercially minded Director of Pricing to lead and evolve their pricing function. This role sits at the intersection of pricing strategy, matter economics, and client value. Do not apply if you do not have any law firm pricing experience. Overview: In this role, you'll oversee both stratetgic and operational pricing, supporting a litigation-heavy platform with significant alternative fee work. The position combines executive advisory responsibility with hands-on financial modeling and process modernization. The firm has an established pricing function with demonstrated firmwide impact and is entering its next phase of growth and infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities: • Lead firmwide pricing strategy (including AFAs, portfolio arrangements, and high-value RFP responses) • Oversee rate strategy, including annual rate setting and exception governance • Advise senior attorneys and leadership on commercial positioning, negotiation strategy, and risk allocation • Develop advanced financial models to assess proftiability, leverage, and staffing strategy • Drive sonsistency through pricing playbooks, frameworks, and scalable tools • Partner cross-fucntionally with multiple teams (i.e. Finance, Marketing/BD, Billing, LPM, etc.) • Mentor and develop pricing professionals • Contribute to automation and workflow modernization initiatives Qualifications: • 10+ years of progressive pricing experience within a law firm environment • Deep rate strategy and exception pricing expertise • Significant experience leading AFAs, portfolio pricing, and RFP strategy • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capability • Strong data visualization skills (i.e. Power BI or similar tools) • Prove ability to influence senior stakeholders and practice leadership • Strong understanding of law firm economics (realization, utilization, margin dynamics) This position offers the ability to shape the next chapter of an established pricing function, influence executive-level commercial strategy, and modernize infrastructure in a firm actively investing in growth and innovation.
