Job Title: Director of Operations About the Role Phoenix Spirit Group, LLC is a rapidly growing company that provides traffic control products and services to clients across North and South Carolina. The Director of Operations plays a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence across multiple branches. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring consistent execution of large-scale projects. The Director will lead strategic planning efforts, coordinate logistics, and foster strong client relationships while maintaining alignment with company policies, safety standards, and performance goals. What You’ll Be Doing Work closely with upper management and the corporate team to align operational strategies with company goals and optimize productivity. Support Branch Managers in coordinating labor and equipment logistics, ensuring smooth operations and efficient resource allocation. Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing strategies to meet client needs and company goals. Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across branches to evaluate operational effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with profit and loss (P&L) goals. Provide oversight for senior field staff, ensuring effective project execution, adherence to safety standards and timely completion of company initiatives. Proactively identify and address company-wide issues before they escalate, implementing solutions to prevent significant damage. Partner with Sales and Estimating teams on bidding process for new projects as needed, ensuring competitive and profitable proposals. Facilitate discussions and problem-solving at both field and corporate levels, promoting effective communication and collaboration. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards across all operational activities. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the organization. What We’re Looking For Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of operations and personnel management practices. Demonstrated project and budget management skills. Strong business acumen with broad understating of fundamental business functions to include finance, logistics and client service. Analytical problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to make data-drive decisions. Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive process improvements, and lead change initiatives across multiple teams. Excellent oral and written skills with ability to collaborate, build a consensus, and resolve conflicts, in a high-pressure environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing business needs. What You’ll Need Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field. 5-10 years of progressive supervisory experience in operations or related field. Proven experience managing multiple teams or branches. Experience in the traffic control, construction, or field services industry is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety regulations, labor compliance, and operational best practices. Work Location The Phoenix Spirit Group, LLC headquarters is located in Wilmington, NC. This position will be based out of the Charlotte branch with travel to other branches and job sites as needed.
