Job Summary The Human Resources (HR) Generalist position is responsible for supporting the management of HR activities, programs, and policies. These programs and policies include recruiting and employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, training, and employee communications. Duties and Responsibilities • Support the talent acquisition process including recruiting, selection, onboarding and orientation. • Ensure the accurate, timely review and maintenance of time keeping and attendance data. • Administer and help develop human resources plans and procedures and policies. • Collaborate with supervisors and managers on employee relation concerns and corrective counseling; manage and track employee corrective actions. • Promote HR and employee engagement programs to create an inclusive culture and conflict-free workplace. • Support and monitor the performance evaluation program; update and maintain wage/salary adjustments. • Perform benefits administration duties including claims resolution, change reporting and communicate benefits information to employees • Assist with Worker's Compensation reporting, including recording of work-related injuries and maintaining all government mandated postings, logs and files related to workers’ compensation • Assist with the timely implementation of approved performance measurement, training, and development programs to enhance the capabilities and performance of employees. • Other core expectations as defined by the company. Requirements and Skills • Post-secondary education required; Bachelor of Human Resources, Business or related discipline, preferred. • Human Resources certification or working towards certification, required. • Minimum three (3) years experience in Human Resources, required; experience in a production or distribution industry, preferred. • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills. • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), required. • Must be able to handle sensitive issues with tact and maintain strict confidentiality of private information; commitment to high professional and ethical standards. • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills. • Able to work in a team environment with individuals of all leadership styles, personalities, and career levels. • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary; persuasive with details and facts; ability to motivate and empower with a forward-thinking nature.
