Reports to: Director of Media & Performing Arts Classification: Contract - Ongoing Location: Remote Pay Rate: $2,500/month Time Commitment: Flexible hours, ~8–10 hours/week average Start Date: ASAP Tools: Wix, Canva, Google Drive, Adobe Creative Suite (optional), Meta Business Suite (optional), Stripe/PayPal integrations, Google Forms, Calendly (or similar) OVERVIEW Heartbeat Music & Performing Arts Academy is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Web Designer & Manager to support our growing Marketing Team. This role is responsible for maintaining and evolving our Wix website to reflect the energy and impact of our nonprofit youth-centered programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, a user-first approach to web layout, and the technical ability to build and maintain a dynamic website experience. They will work closely with our internal team to keep content fresh, promote events, and ensure the site reflects our mission, while staying functional, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate. This is a remote, part-time contract role best suited to someone with strong design instincts, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage and update a dynamic web presence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain and update the organization’s Wix website with new content, visuals, and program/event information • Design clean, engaging layouts that are user-friendly on both desktop and mobile • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Media Associates to ensure the website supports ongoing campaigns, announcements, and storytelling goals • Input and troubleshoot third-party integrations (donation links, forms, embeds, etc.) • Propose improvements to the site's structure, navigation, or visuals when needed • Ensure all updates meet accessibility standards and reflect consistent branding • Monitor site analytics and performance periodically to address issues like load time or broken links QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated experience designing and managing websites on Wix (or similar platforms) • Strong portfolio showing layout design, mobile optimization, and interactive or embedded content • Basic understanding of SEO, web accessibility standards, and user-centered design • Familiarity with basic website analytics tools (e.g., Wix analytics, Google Analytics) • Familiarity with third-party tools such as donation platforms, event calendars, or embedded forms • Comfortable working independently and remotely while communicating clearly with a small team • Must have access to their own computer, design tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe), and reliable internet connection • Bonus: Experience working with nonprofits, youth organizations, or in arts/education spaces This is a remote position.
