Overview How you can make a difference The Sr Program Manager is responsible to coordinate, plan, document and manage highly complex, mission critical programs and projects. This role drives large, multi-year programs with significant cross-functional impact, partnering closely with operations, service, go-to-market, compliance, product, and technology teams. The Sr Program Manager will serve as the first line of knowledge and escalation for assigned program’s health, while continuously seeking ways to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and output of the overall program. This position acts as a liaison ensuring consistent communication of the program and project statuses are conveyed across the organization. The Sr Program Manager typically reports to Director of Program Management. What you’ll be doing Developing program and project charters that define objectives, success metrics, and delivery approach for complex, cross-functional initiatives Defining scope and outcomes while remaining flexible as priorities, timelines, and requirements evolve Leading large, multi-year initiatives involving multiple business functions, balancing competing priorities and dependencies Actively monitoring program health across timelines, risks, dependencies, resourcing, and delivery milestones Preparing and delivering concise, executive-level updates that clearly communicate progress, risks, decisions needed, and tradeoffs Serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across operations, service, go-to-market, compliance, product, and technology Facilitating and leading meetings confidently on camera, driving alignment and decisions rather than just reporting status Managing resourcing needs in partnership with functional leaders and external vendors Identifying, assessing, and mitigating strategic, operational, technical, and financial risks Operating effectively in unstructured environments—starting work without full business cases and adapting quickly as direction shifts Driving continuous improvement by refining program practices, tools, and governance in collaboration with portfolio and PMO leadership Mentoring and coaching project managers across levels, providing guidance, feedback, and support on execution and delivery Managing partner and vendor relationships, including participation in RFPs as needed What you will need to be successful 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs or portfolios, delivered successfully and at scale Demonstrated experience working across Operations, Product, Technology, go-to-market, and Compliance Proven ability to lead large, multi-year initiatives with high organizational visibility and impact Strong comfort operating in vague, evolving, and unstructured environments, with the ability to pivot quickly when scope or priorities change Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies, and the judgment to apply the right approach for the situation Exceptional communication skills—clear, concise, direct, and confident presenting to executives and senior leaders Comfort leading discussions and decision-making forums on camera Proficiency in PowerPoint, including creating executive-ready presentations and program updates Experience using project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, Asana, or similar), not limited to spreadsheets Strong ability to influence without authority and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups Consistent demonstration of HealthEquity values #LI-Remote This is a remote position.
